Thank you for changing my life.

For years I had neglected my dental health. I took my dental health for granted.

I felt tired all the time and would come home from work irritable. I found myself becoming overweight at 219 pounds with no energy to exercise. I went to my family physician and found that my triglycerides were at 785. It seemed that no medicine that my doctor or dentist put me on could help my condition.

Finally some suggested that I visit you at your Kirksville office. You diagnosed me with having severe periodontal disease. Unfortunately by the time I saw you, most of my teeth could not be saved. You removed my decayed upper teeth and put in an upper denture. Several of my lower teeth were able to be kept, so you put in a partial plate.

I am pleased to report that following your dental treatment that now my triglycerides are down to 70 and my weight is now down to 180 pounds. I have more energy than I can remember having for a long time and my wife will attest that I am not irritable at home anymore.

Thank you for making me feel like a new man.

Sincerely,

Rick Whiles

Dear Dr. Barber:

Thank you for making such a difference in my life!

I used to have severe migraine headaches and had gotten to the point where I couldn’t really taste my food.

My coworkers and wife kept telling me that I was being a real grouch. I guess I hurt so bad that I really didn’t care how I acted around others. I found myself missing work to the point that my supervisor warned me that if I missed much more, I would be out of a job.

I went to numerous dentists and doctors to try and find a cure for my problems. They put me on various drugs, but nothing seemed to work until someone recommended that I come see you.

You diagnosed that my problem was severe periodontal disease. I knew my teeth were getting loose and that I had a continual problem with bad breath, but I did not know that a problem in my mouth could affect the rest of my body.

I feel like a new person since you removed my teeth and my infection has gone away. To top it all off, the cosmetic dentures that you made for me look better than my real teeth did when they were healthy. People say that I not only act better now, but that I look better and have a real winning smile.

Thanks for caring about me and giving me a new lease on life.

Sincerely,

W.R.

Dear Dr. Barber:

I would like to express my happiness with my new smile! I simply cannot believe what a difference having veneers on my teeth has made in my life. I feel better about myself and have a renewed sense of confidence, not to mention the endless compliments from friends and strangers alike. Unlike other dentists I have visited, you and your assistants went the extra mile to make sure I have been comfortable. I even received a phone call the evening after my appointment from you to see how I was doing. I now have a new outlook on going to the dentist.

I can’t begin to tell you, how much I appreciated he fact that ProDental is one of the only dental practices in town that has 24 hour, seven day week, 365 days a year emergency care. When my son Johnny fell and chipped his front teeth, I called your office and immediately received a call back from one of your dentists. He saw my son and I on a Saturday morning and took care of the problem. Thanks Dr. Barber and to the staff of ProDental, you really are a lifesaver!

I always thought I was destined to keep the smile I was born with. My crooked teeth were dingy in color and made me look older than I really am. Now with my new porcelain teeth, I look ten years younger! I love my new smile and my new younger life. The investment I made was worth every penny. Dr. Barber, you and your staff truly are artists. Thank you. You have profoundly changed by life!

I remember daily headaches, from what I thought were allergies, stress or migraines. I realized after my full mouth reconstruction was complete who much pain I had been in all those years. The immediate benefits were less head, neck and back pain, and one beautiful smile!

Dear ProDental:
You guys have just change my whole life for me. Prior to coming to you, people used to stare at my bad teeth. Now, not only do I feel better physically, but I feel much better about myself and how I look. This will impact me every day for the rest of my life. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. You have truly changed my life in several ways forever and I will never forget you for that.
Thank you all So Much – RB

Dr. Barber & Staff,
Just a note to say a very sincerely, heartfelt thank you for my beautiful smile. I have regained my self confidence and ability to smile. I have had so many compliments on my dentures and how natural they look. Family tells me that Look exactly like my original teeth. I thank you for all that you have done for me. And a special, thank you for your very kind staff and especially the chair side assistant that is so kind and helpful and explained everything so thoroughly and gave me little extra hints and advice to help a person to adjust to wearing dentures. So a special thanks to Charlotte.
You made me very happy!

Dear Dr. Barber and Staff:

I wanted to thank you, on behalf of this Health Department and the Gulf coast evacuees, for your generous support in or response to the recent hurricanes. Thanks to the generosity of our community, including businesses like yours, people in need were able to receive the items and services necessary in re-building their lives.

Again thank you for your kindness and spirit of generosity in a time of need. With your help, we were literally able to help relieve a little pain among those who are suffering greatly.

They can also lead to that hard, yellowish substance called plaque. If left untreated you may develop tooth decay or even gum disease.

Teeth cleanings should take place once every 6 months to insure that your teeth and gums remain healthy as you age. This simple measure can insure that you retain a healthy smile for years and will help you to avoid more expensive procedures later in life.

Once you have started the habit of regular check-ups and cleanings, be sure to brush and floss your teeth daily. Eating foods like apples can also assist in keeping your teeth clean. Using certain mouthwash solutions regularly can help eliminate plaque from forming as well.

Be sure to ask Dr. Barber about developing and maintaining healthy oral hygiene during your dental visit.

Crowns have many uses, but are especially useful in the following situations:

To protect a weak tooth (for instance, from decay) from breaking or to hold together parts of a cracked tooth

To restore an already broken tooth or a tooth that has been severely worn down

To cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t a lot of tooth left

To hold a dental bridge in place

To cover misshapened or severely discolored teeth

To cover a dental implant

Often metals like a gold alloy (or other materials) are used to create the crown. The crown is placed over the tooth to protect the portion of the tooth that is missing or has been removed during preparation of the tooth.

Utilizing air-abrasion technology, drill-free dentistry allow us to work on the enamel of the tooth (or teeth) with little to no discomfort at all.

During the air abrasion, process an instrument works like a mini sandblaster and is used to spray away decay. During air abrasion, a fine stream of particles is aimed at the decayed portion of the tooth. These particles are made of silica, aluminum oxide, or a baking soda mixture and are propelled toward the tooth surface by compressed air or a gas that runs through the dental hand piece. Small particles of decay on the tooth surface are removed as the stream of particles strikes them. The particles of decay are then “suctioned” away.

Once the abrasion is complete, we can replace the material with either tooth-colored or traditional fillings to restore your smile to what it was intended to be. No Pain or Discomfort and the results are amazing!
